TOM’S CORNER

When we experience pain, we usually associate it with inflammation and as something bad for us. However, inflammation is part of the complex biological response of body tissues to harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, damaged cells, or irritants, and is a protective response involving immune cells, blood vessels, and molecular mediators. The function of inflammation is to eliminate the initial cause of cell injury, clear out necrotic cells and tissues damaged from the original insult and the inflammatory process, and to initiate tissue repair.

The classical signs of acute inflammation are pain, heat, redness, swelling, and loss of function. Inflammation is a generic response, and therefore it is considered as a mechanism of innate immunity, as compared to adaptive immunity, which is specific for each pathogen. Too little inflammation could lead to progressive tissue destruction by the harmful stimulus (e.g. bacteria) and compromise the survival of the organism. In contrast, chronic inflammation may lead to a host of diseases, such as hay fever, rheumatoid arthritis and even cancer. Inflammation is therefore normally closely regulated by the body.

Enhance Your Circulation as You Exercise with Oxygen!

Another happy client!!

A recent patient who lost eye vision is doing remarkably well as a result of Live 02 along with UVB and Turbopuncture (acupuncture with Tesla Energy Lights)…

Live O2Altitude Contrast

Breathe and Be Well. Oxygen training* is the process of breathing high concentrations of oxygen while exercising, which produces a negative polarity directly into the human body. Exercising while breathing supplemental oxygen may greatly increase the amount of oxygen in the blood plasma. After as little as 15 minutes of exercising with oxygen, there may be a dramatic increase in energy, vision and mental clarity.

Disease cannot survive in highly oxygenated bodies. Live O2Adaptive Contrast lets you switch between oxygen-reduced and oxygen-rich air during exercise. This creates a “magic moment” of super-oxygenation for the brain, liver and kidneys. Exercising while breathing higher concentrations of oxygen increases the body’s oxygen uptake and gives the cells the oxygen molecules required to process ATP, which provides you with more energy.

Exercising with oxygen puts people in a respiratory state where they are getting four times more oxygen than they have ever had before. The super oxygenation triggers an anti-inflammatory response within two minutes. The typical exercise protocol is about 15 minutes and it is like a hyperbaric chamber but much faster.

The adaptive contrast switch creates simultaneous maximums of circulation and blood oxygen levels not achievable by any other known method:

  • Blood flow to the target tissue is maximized by combined exertion and hypoxic challenge
  • A switch to an oxygen-rich respiratory mixture occurs
  • This results in a maximum dissolved plasma-oxygen level and simultaneously, maximum blood flow to the target tissue
  • Maximum tissue perfusion and maximum anti-inflammatory effect is thus achieved in the target tissue

Low oxygen exertion compels the body to adapt to low oxygen conditions. The adaptive process creates very special conditions in the body:

  • Blood flow increases to critical systems
  • 2,3 DPG increases thereby enhancing oxygen dissociation
  • Heart rate increases to increase circulatory system flow
  • Dilates the vascular system to increase blood flow to distal tissue
  • Breath rate and volume increase to ensure oxygen extraction from air

You will want to come in and experience the Live O2Adaptive Contrast protocol and get addicted to feeling good! Make an appointment today at 505-474-8555.

6 Easy to Prepare Recipes that Can Help Fight Arthritis Pain

If you have a difficult time dialing a telephone, wince in agony every time you bend your knees or refrain from activities you once loved due aches and pains, you’re certainly not alone.

Arthritis is a devastating disease that affects millions – both the young and the young at heart. Visit The Arthritis Society website to learn about the different types of arthritis.

In addition to causing painful, often crippling, symptoms, arthritis can limit one’s ability to care for themselves and participate fully in their home and community.

While its disabling effects are best addressed by early diagnosis and treatment, there are some foods with anti-inflammatory properties that will ease your aching joints and make the disease less painful. Doesn’t that sound like a recipe for relief? At the very least, it’s some great food for thought.

Before you head to the kitchen and begin cooking up a storm, remember that simplicity is key when it comes to cooking and preparing food – especially if you have arthritis. After all, the last thing you want to do is slave away washing, cutting and mixing ingredients when you aren’t feeling up to par.
