The Space Between - Unleashing ADHDs Creative Gifts Pre-Screening

Wednesday, August 4 7pm

The Space Between follows the journey of Santa Fe artist Gunnar Plake, a 68-year sufferer of ADHD, from his turbulent childhood, through a life of limitations and structure, to a place of solace: motion photography and his muse, The Grand Canyon.

He has found the gift in his condition the hyper-focus that allows him to expand time and in the last quarter of his life, live in the creativity of the space between.

Today, between one and three children in each classroom are diagnosed with ADHD. They are labeled early and suffer the consequences of both their condition and the reactions from those around them. People living with ADHD share symptoms with those labeled Creatives, yet their lives often take very different paths. If we encourage them to creatively channel their energy, they too can use their unique way of experiencing the world to expand how everyone else sees it.

The Space Between talks with leading experts about the connection between ADHD and Creativity, culling it into a 50-minute educational outpouring. Creativity is a powerful gift to people living with ADHD and an avenue of hope for all of us who live in an ADD-O-Genic society.

All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once they grow up. Pablo Picasso
