David Hillendahl, BA, M.Ed, CRhT
A performing musician since the age of six, David Hillendahl played percussion for the original Broadway musical GODSPELL before embarking on a decade of touring with some of the best-loved shows of all time including JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, SHOWBOAT, MAME, PIPPEN, and THE MUSIC MAN. Following his performing career, Mr. Hillendahl began using drumming as therapy in schools, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities across the United States. A chance encounter with the late psychiatrist and researcher Elisabeth Kübler-Ross led to extensive research in Sound Healing work which he successfully implemented in hospice programs around the country. With the formation of the non-profit Hill-Sky Foundation in 2002, his Drums Through the Ages program has been presented to individuals throughout Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California, and New York.
As a Rhythm Therapist, he specializes in conducting mass Drum Circles which promote the incredible wellness properties of drumming for young and old alike. As a Sound Healer, he regularly employs the use of tuning forks, Tibetan Singing Bowls, and numerous instruments from the percussion family to provide a total holistic approach to wellness. Mr. Hillendahl is a practitioner member of Rhythm Therapy Association, the American Holistic Health Association and Sound Healers Association.
